This eSIM is a Data-ONLY sim hence it doesn't come with a phone number. The sim does not allow you to make direct calls or send direct SMS. However, you are still able to make calls and send messages via data based apps such as Whatsapp, Viber, Snapchat, Messenger, Skype, iMessage etc. However, you are also able to add credit to your Viber or Skype account, which will allow you to make local and international phone calls directly to landlines and mobiles.
Yes, you are able to hotspot/tether from your phone to another phone or device.
The mobile data APN settings should automatically update when you insert the sim in you phone. If it does not, you need to update the settings so it states the following; APN Name: internet APN: internet Details about APN settings and other important information will be noted on the instruction sheet that will come accompanied with the eSIM.
If you are travelling for longer than 31 days, please purchase multiple sSIMs accordingly. For example, if you are travelling for 60 days then purchase 2 of these sims and swap them over at the end of the 31 day period.
Should you run into any issues with the sim whilst overseas then we encourage you to email us immediately at support@simcorner.com and let us know the following information; Your order number or the name that the order is under along with the sim number. Which country you are in currently and whether the sim connects to any network, if so, which network? Did you receive any SMS after you installed the eSIM? If so, please send us a screenshot of that message. Message us screenshots of any error message you are getting. What phone model you are using? Any other information about the issue, which will assist us in helping you resolve the issue. 
You can stay in touch with your family and friends by sending them messages and calling them via data based apps such as Whatsapp, Viber, Snapchat, Messenger, Skype, iMessage etc. You are also able to add credit to your Viber or Skype account, which will allow you to make local and international phone calls directly to landlines and mobiles.

If you are travelling to different countries that are noted on the "Countries Coverage" section, then all you need to do is restart your phone as you move from one country to another. To check your data balance/allowance you simply need to dial *111*6# then press Call (star, one, one, one, star, six, hash then press Call). If you receive any text messages noting that you have zero credit balance then you can ignore as it does not relate to your data balance.
