When you insert the sim card in any of the covered countries, you will receive a text to your phone noting the French phone number.
Should anyone want to call you on your phone number, they would need to drop the leading 0 and add the France country code +33 in front of the phone number,

Yes, you are able to hotspot/tether from your phone to another phone or device.
The mobile data APN settings should automatically update when you insert the sim in you phone. If it does not, you need to update the settings so it states the following;
Name: Bouygues Telecom
APN: mmsbouygtel.com
Proxy, Port, Username & Password: LEAVE BLANK.
The features on the sim card are valid for 30 days of service from activation.
This sim cannot be recharged, if you are travelling for longer than 30 days, we advise that you purchase additional sim cards based on the duration of your travel and swap the sim over at the end of 30 days. For example, if you are travelling for 45 days then purchase 2 of these sims and swap them over at the end of the 30 day period. (Please note: each sim card will have a different phone number).
The same can be applied if you feel you need more data within a 30 days period, so please purchase multiple sims according to how much data you will need for your trip. For example, If you need 120GB of data within a 30 days period then please purchase 2 sims or if you think you need 90GB of data then please purchase one 60GB and one 30GB sims.

Some of your family and friends may have international calling as part of their phone plans to French numbers, but others may not be able to make direct international calls or sms.

Firstly please check that the number you are dialling is a Standard Landline or Mobile. Premium rate or Business rate numbers are NOT included in the Unlimited Minutes and SMS.
You must always use the correct prefixes and international dialing conventions as noted below whenever making a call or sending an SMS to a local number.
00 (Country Code) (Area Code) (Number) or + (Country Code) (Area Code) (Number)
If calling a French number, you must use their country code which is 33 for example, in front of the number.
eg:
For Landlines: 00 - 33 - Area Code - Land Phone Number Or + 33 - Area Code - Land Phone Number and/or
For Mobiles: 00 - 33 - 9 Digit Mobile Number (for calling and sms)
If you need to call a rental company or tour provider, it is recommended to check with them before you depart for the correct international dialling conventions and to ensure it is standard local rate number.
