Physical Prepaid Sim & e-Sims
The prepaid physical sim I ordered turned up on time and worked perfectly from the install. The rest of my family ordered e-Sims and had four days of emailing sim corner back and forth to no avail on 1, and it took four days to resolve the other. My advice, buy the physical prepaid sim if your phone will take one.

To activate, simply insert the travel sim into your device and update the APN settings when you land in Japan. The travel sim will automatically connect to the Docomo network which will commence your 180 days of service.
The sim pack will come with the instructions on what the APN Settings are and how to update them for both Android and iOS phones. Once in Japan and you have updated your APN settings the sim will automatically activate which is when your 180 days begins.
Please note, you will need to have MOBILE DATA functions ENABLED/TURNED ON in your device to use the service.
This Japan SIM is a Data-ONLY sim hence it doesn't come with a phone number. This sim does not allow you to make direct calls or send direct SMS. However, you are still able to make calls and send messages via data based apps such as Whatsapp, Viber, Snapchat, Messenger, Skype, iMessage etc.
However, you are also able to add credit to your Viber or Skype account, which will allow you to make local and international phone calls directly to landlines and mobiles.
