To activate, simply insert the travel sim into your device and update the APN settings when you land in Japan. The travel sim will automatically connect to the Docomo network which will commence your 180 days of service. 

The sim pack will come with the instructions on what the APN Settings are and how to update them for both Android and iOS phones. Once in Japan and you have updated your APN settings the sim will automatically activate which is when your 180 days begins.

This Japan SIM is a Data-ONLY sim hence it doesn't come with a phone number. This sim does not allow you to make direct calls or send direct SMS. However, you are still able to make calls and send messages via data based apps such as Whatsapp, Viber, Snapchat, Messenger, Skype, iMessage etc.

However, you are also able to add credit to your Viber or Skype account, which will allow you to make local and international phone calls directly to landlines and mobiles.

Yes, you are able to hotspot/tether from your phone to another phone or device.

You need to update the APN Setting in your device as noted in the booklet.The travel sim card activates as soon as you insert the sim card in your device. It is on this date that your 180 days of service will commence.

If you are travelling for longer than 180 days, please purchase multiple sims accordingly.

As this SIM cannot be recharged, if you feel you need more data then please purchase multiple sims accordingly. 

If you are travelling for longer than 180 days, please purchase multiple sims according and swap them over at the end of the 180 day period.

Yes, you will have access to all your apps, messages, contacts and emails whilst using this Japan SIM card. Nothing on your phone is deleted or changed and you can continue to use your phone as per normal. The only change with using this SIM is that you will have a new phone number.
